Integrating AI safely and effectively into your work life!
C.R.K.L. AI for Business
Accelerating Your Business with AI
A simple 4-step system to effectively integrate AI that is a win-win for the business and your workplace. This is a introductory course that contains public theory-based elements in addition to private company-focused workshops.
-
Chapter 1 - Overview
-
Lesson 1: Why C.R.K.L. ? - Intro (Copy)
Designing, implementing and monitoring environmental activities through a scorecard that is integrated into the research and development process can be critical to success. This can provide a win-win-win-win for the environment-team-product-and the company.
-
Lesson 2: C.R.K.L. Steps - Intro (Copy)
A scorecard can provide metrics on the main environmental wastes and how they can be addressed - ultimately reduced. The key to three scorecard is visibility on all the factors, known and unknown as well as how we can use them to provide guidance on how to be more sustainable in product development.
-
Lesson 3: C.R.K.L. Implementation - Intro (Copy)
How the data is collected is critical for it's reliability and repeatability (a Gauge R&R can be used to assess that). This is essential as all justifications of your results are based on how the data was collected to ensure they are reliable.
-
-
Chapter 2 - "C" is for Collecting Data
-
Lesson 1: C is for Collecting Data - Intro (Copy)
Data collection is essential to the process of determining what you can and cannot assess in your sustainability initiative. The key is to identify and collect samples of all the data you can to help make a better determination of "data gaps" that you need to "research" in step 2 of the system.
-
Lesson 2: What Data Do I Collect? - Intro (Copy)
What data do you need to collect? This is critical to answer ahead of time based on your industry and the appropriate standards you want to use (i.e. SASB, GRI etc.). Every standard has select industries that it targets to identify the results to be published. This helps determine the data needed and by extension the "data gaps" that need to be "Researched" in the next step of the system.
-
Lesson 3: Where Do I Find the Data - Intro (Copy)
Where the data can be collected is essentail to ensuring it is viable and reliable. This is critical as at times, the data is logged manually in batch records or simply not measured or logged at all. This will make it difficult to collect and may mean it will be part of the gap that needs to be addressed.
-
-
Chapter 3 - "R" is for Researching Gaps
-
Lesson 1: R is for Researching Sustainability Gaps - Intro (Copy)
Research is critical to identifying the data gaps and more importantly what basis (i.e. literature, experience, past results, etc.) will be used to bridge the gaps for now and how they can be more accurately bridged in the future (i.e. with more data collection, additional measurements etc.).
-
Lesson 2: What is a Data Gap - Intro (Copy)
What data do you need to gap? This is critical to answer ahead of time based on your industry and the appropriate standards you want to use (i.e. SASB, GRI etc.). Every standard has select industries that it targets to identify the results to be published. This helps determine the data needed and by extension the "data gaps" that need to be addressed.
-
Lesson 3: How We Research and Bridge Gaps - Intro (Copy)
It’s all in the assumptions (i.e. literature, experience, experimentation etc.) that can be found to bridge the data gap and remain as viable as possible. It is important to ensure that the assumptions can be justified and are visible for calculation of the "KPI Scores" in the next step of the system.
-
-
Chapter 4 - "K" is for Knowing Your Scores
-
Lesson 1: K is for Knowing Your KPI - Intro (Copy)
KPI Scores are citical to determining the all around Win-WIN-Win for the environment, the business and your project/product/stakeholder. This can be used as a tool to ensure a balanced outcome can be achieved when taking action to improve the environmental sustainability.
-
Lesson 2: What KPI Are Relevant? - Intro (Copy)
What KPI Scores to be used should be focused on what matters most to the business and the environment as well as being linked to how the environmental reporting is performed. The data that is publicly disclosed is likely a great way to start scoring.
-
Lesson 3: Providing An Overall Score - Intro (Copy)
Where possible, an overall score should be used to allow for simple assessment of the KPI scores used and provide some tunability for the stakeholders to help dicate which environmental factors get dealt with first and most.
-
-
Chapter 5 - "L" is for Listening to Stakeholders
-
Lesson 1: L is for Listening to Stakeholders - Intro (Copy)
Listening to stakeholders after an initial review of the KPI scores, data and methods to attain everything is essential to ensure relevance of the results attained and to determine next steps to improve the scores and even the KPI scoring method if needed.
-
Lesson 2: What is Essential to Incorporate - Intro (Copy)
Determination of what scores to improve is critical to ensure it will meet stakeholder requirements from the listening sessions. This is different for every project or product and can be difficult to ascertain on the first round.
-
Lesson 3: Where to Focus Efforts - Intro (Copy)
Where the improvement can be applied in an effecitve way that provides a Win-Win-Win is ciritcal to this stage of the process to ensure the pth is viable and will meet stakeholder requirements. Using the KPI Scorecard as a leading indicator is a great way to "estimating" future success.
-
-
Chapter 6 - Application of C.R.K.L.
-
Lesson 1: How to Implement C.R.K.L. - Intro (Copy)
The implementation of the system is more important than knowing the system as the act of performing the initiative is where the efforts can be proven. This is why it’s so important to focus on implementation.
-
Lesson 2: Personalizing C.R.K.L. - Intro (Copy)
It’s critical that the implementation of the system gets stakeholder’s to focus on the results that are relevant to them. This is why modifying and adapting the C.R.K.L. system to meet your needs is so essential.
-
Lesson 3: Making Your Initiative Count - Intro (Copy)
It’s all in the application of the system. Results are often difficult to interpret and know which way to modify your path so you can find the most impactful way to sustain the environment. There are important tools that can help make the process more predictable.
-
Make Your Impact Relevant
Finding a Way To Stay Green
Balance Sustainability
It all begins with a drive to really want to sustain the environment in a way that is responsible to yourself and the business. This win-win approach is so critical to allow initiatives to come around full C.R.K.L. in making a positive impact on all stakeholders.
What you’ll learn
-
Designing, implementing and monitoring environmental activities through a scorecard that is integrated into the research and development process can be critical to success. This can provide a win-win-win-win for the environment-team-product-and the company.

-
How the improvement can be made is just as significant as what and where the improvement will be. This factor more than any other will help dicate the success of the Win-Win-Win goals. Use of the KPI Scorecard as a leading indicator is a great way to "estimating" future success.
Course FAQ
